About Laquatsa

Hi, I’m Gen—founder of Laquatsa.com. Born in Bulacan, grew up in Mindoro, studied in Laguna, and now residing in Pampanga, my life has been a series of boat rides and bus trips. I’ve been my father’s travel buddy and personal suitcase CCTV since I was four, which is probably why I’ve always had itchy feet for new adventures.

Travel, for me, is more than just reaching a destination, it’s the entire journey—the long hours of commuting and driving, enjoying delicacies, cup noodles and junk food at pit stops, talking to strangers, and sometimes getting lost along the way. And  this passion also extends to organizing trips for family and friends.

However, as the go-to organizer and destination researcher, I often find that online resources focus on top-rated but pricey destinations.

I used to be a broke backpacker, which is why I know from experience that there are many affordable resorts and restaurants that deserve to be featured on Google’s top search. This realization inspired me to create my own blog to spotlight these hidden gems.

And thanks to years of working as a virtual assistant, I’ve learned skills that helped me build this blog. With the help of my sisters and a talented group of newbie writers, we have brought Laquatsa to life.

For me, Laquatsa is more than just a blog—it’s a form of therapy. When I’m at home saving up for our next adventure, I immerse myself in planning, researching, and writing about my travel bucket lists. Once we’ve visited a destination, I document our experiences through walk tours and share honest reviews to help others find their next adventure.
